The Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR 4.0) movement has gone full force in Indonesia during the past year. Technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data analytics, and internet of things have become more popular than ever, thanks to the rise of consumer electronics and startups during recent times.

Innovesia has been one of the companies that pioneered the movement since the early days. We incorporate the message and knowledge in our activities, from our Innovation by Design workshops to our projects with clients.  Besides the techs that are mentioned earlier, there are also 3D printing, augmented reality, virtual reality, and advanced robotics.

In March of 2019, we are having an opportunity to further explore the possibilities of IR 4.0 with our Innovators@america program, in partnership with @america. @america is the U.S. Embassy’s American cultural center which is located in Pacific Place, South Jakarta. In this program, we will select several participants to join a series of mentoring sessions and workshops that can help them develop their submitted ideas and prototype around IR 4.0. The mentoring sessions will be lead by chosen corporate leaders and startup founders, while the workshops, Innovation by Design will be lead by Innovesia and their facilitator partners.

To help launch and promote the program, on Thursday, February 21st 2019, Innovesia and @america held an event titled Build your Industrial Revolution 4.0 Idea with Experts. The event is a discussion between Danny Kosasih, the co-founder of Innovesia, with two guest speakers; Andrew Damadi, the CEO of Halosis and Sonny Soemarso, the co-founder of BikinBot. Each of the guest speakers is representing their field of expertise which are included in IR 4.0 technologies, with Andrew representing artificial intelligence and Sonny representing 3D printing.

In the discussion, the speakers talked about what is IR 4.0 and their impact to the near future of Indonesia’s business and industry landscape. The guest speakers also talked about their upbringing and what drives them to their respective fields. Sonny, for instance, first discovered 3D printing in the movie Mission Impossible, where the main characters uses the technology to print camouflage masks to support their mission.

After the discussion, the speakers interacted with several of the audience members who asked questions surrounding the topic of IR 4.0. The event closed with a photo session, and interview session between the speakers and the media.
